The doors opened at 3pm on the Friday for early practice an by 6 o’clock we nearly had a “full house”. Luckily the weather was kind over the weekend and we saw a total of 23 racers competing for the awards, with overseas visitors from Sweden and Portugal.
The race field was a mix of those who have become addicted to the R81 speed buzz over the years and also some new faces ready to take on the various challenges of the track and the ultra competitive racing.
Many thanks go to Graeme Stephenson for a full weekends race control, ensuring a timely finish on Sunday afternoon, Mark and his good lady for providing food and refreshments over the weekend and of course the racers!
As usual at R81 the racing was fast and furious with a number of casualties on the way in all 3 classes, some of which managed to get back into the race a some with terminal misadventures!
Many thanks to those who made the effort to attend (especially to those who travelled a considerable distance) and made this a really enjoyable and fun race weekend.
We hope to see you all for another great round of this event next year.
The results tell most of the story. You will find photos, comments etc. on the various facebook pages.
